T = The Thing --------------------------------------
Ack, she thought from atop the tree branches.
Despite the star falling so far away, the noise it made was so loud, it pushed the wind in her direction that it smacked against herself, the noise was so loud it came close to physically hurt her eardrums.
She had seen stars move quickly in the night before, but this was in the day, and landed nearby (Nearby when compared to all the other times anyway)
But a ball of light that may be shining just off in the distance, to witness this may never occur with anyone else, finding it, and possible being able to touch it.
She needed to find it, if for no other reason to see it close.
Running in the direction it appeared to fall and stopping to catch her breathe four times.
Seeing the smoke from the skies get bigger as she got closer.
But as she began smelling the smoke and seeing impacted dirt and rock everywhere that was clearly pushed fiercely. Now she was close.
That was until she was halted by an oddly shaped mountain. Taking a look however, she noticed the mountain itself was extremely odd.
The ground below was smashed down, clearly impacted.
Was this what a star looked like, where all the mountains a star that had fallen from atop the skies?
Well, that may be an answer, if the mountain itself wasn't weird either.
The mountain was more almost a complete black, and it's shape seemed more well carved then any giant rock before. In fact it was carved more well then stone temples she had visited.
Observing the mountain better and up close, she noticed her reflection, almost like looking into a running river.
Observing about and looking at the star from every angle, she noticed an opening.
Looking in, she began to feel about as she stepped inside, she placed her hands on the walls, noticing a fell like nothing she had ever felt before.
To describe this feel of surface was beyond her knowledge.
She was actually scared to enter the star, but she had come this far already. The idea of witnessing something that may never happen again was enough to push her through that open space to look in.
She began hearing noises and seeing lights.
After a good climb in the rather flat cave she noticed a larger opening that had stalagmite everywhere, some emitted light.
What was all this.
Thinking it was time she told others of this, she decided to return to her tribe.
As she exited a deer was coming closer to the entrance, slightly freaking her out for a second.
The deer itself did not back away, but rather stared at her. She was not far from it, naturally deer ran whenever someone was this close.
Staring back as it, she bopped her head forward a bit and the animal did to.
Bopping it back and the deer repeated.
Keeping her eyes fixated on the deer's, she tried moving around him when the deer just kept moving to block her. Getting a bit closer as she made her steps.
Screw it, Bringing something like this back to the tribe would do well for her name, if the deer was this suicidal then she may as well grant that wish.
She grabbed her fang real quick and swung it at the head.
Originally expected it to move it's head back, she actually hit the head and the knife dug through.
But her surprise at a successful hit continued with the surprise that it was still breathing and staring as if nothing just happened.
Attempting to pull the knife out was much harder then smacking it in this time. As iff it got stuck just as it was lodged.
Hearing the deer growl did not make her any less comfortable, it then began shacking its head rapidly, it opened its mouth and it's tongue stuck out.
More grotesque then anything she had seen before, the tongue extended longer then she expected it to, it was all lumpy, and a claw was popped at the tip.
She had seen animal tongues before, that includes deers, what was with this creature.
Was this a nightmare?
Well that thought would be comforting when she wakes up, that is if she were to, right now seems to be reality, and peril comes full force as the tongue stretched far enough to tie a few loops around the arm that held on to the knife.\
There was no saliva, but the fang at the end dug down into her hand.
Pulling back her hand did nothing as the tongue was tight and the fang went inwards, what little temporary effort she made in the few tugs just made it pierce her arm further.
Caught and quickly panicking, she used her other arm to reach under the tongue and find the blade.
As soon as she did grab the knife, the lower jaw of the deer extended all the way back like a snake.
It made gargling noises and this freak sight was enough to distract her at attempting to pull the knife out until she glimpsed something moving where the pincer tongue was.
Looking back at her hand, she noticed her skin was merging with the tongue, evident by the skin tone changing.
Yanking again on the knife to no success, in fact her hand slipped a few times. As the merging of her hand became ever more present, surprisingly it wasn't hurting.
She heard another rip and noticed blood leaking from the chest of the deer. Moving towards her was what was best described as a bone-looking tentacle.
It slithered slowly on the ground towards her.
She tried even more desperately to pull her arm but still no effect.
Instead moving her feet back the closer the tentacle got, But she was limited to how far back she could stretch her legs back whereas the tentacle seemed endless.
It continued further behind her feet before stretching back, looped around the ankles and making a few strong grasps of loops just before reaching as high as her knees.
This time the tentacle was wet, but it didn't look like saliva or blood and felt like it was moving across her skin.
With only one arm free she began bashing at the creatures head to still no effect
It was like a flesh piece with the mind of a rock.
No concern of finding her physical attacks a threat and probably not even feeling it despite the head movement that showed force applied.
The bone-like tentacle tugged back to offset her balance. Instead pulling back into her chest and her leg followed inward also.
She saw the knife fling out of the skull and fly away as soon as she wasn't touching it for long.
As soon as the tentacle made its way back in the chest with her feet and part of her leg went in with it, the chest began sealing up again around her leg.
The tongue forced back into the mouth and the jaw closed around the arm.
She used the still free hand to claw at the fur since she was so close she couldn't do anything else before the harmed skin opened up like an eyelid. Seeing a worm-like stomach that went god-knows how deep. Swinging faster then she could react properly to it, she had accidentally punched into it.
Something from the end grabbed onto her wrist and kept her pulling back.
Now completely immobilized, Nalee was completely helpless as the fur began growing quickly around her own body.
Whatever this thing was, she knew she had no chance of getting away now. She was at the complete mercy of this monster.
